"After all...what's in a Prayer?"

Our Father, who art IN Heaven,

Hallowed be THY name.

THY kingdom come; THY will be done in Earth,

As it is in Heaven.

Give us, THIS day, our DAILY bread,

And forgive us OUR trespasses,

As WE forgive those who trespass against US.

LEAD us...not INTO temptation,

But DELIVER us from evil...

For, Thine IS the kingdom,

And THINE is the power...

And Thine is the TRUTH...forever, and EVER; Amen.

Substituting the word "truth" for the word "glory" that is always used strikes a "jarring note" when reciting the prayer. That's as it needs to be...the world needs jarring out of it's complacency about God...about a lot of things. We need to be rudely awakened from the willful sleep we're sunk in, in our minds. The Bible speaks of circumcising hearts; that's the mind He's referring to, when God speaks of hearts. We need to peel away the layer of lies we've been fed all our lives, lies about God, about how we're supposed to live, about the meaning of His Word(s). When The Lord's Prayer is used in an attempt to connect with God, we should at least realize HOW to use it, and it's all right there, in the book of Matthew...Chapter 5 or 6, I believe.....when Jesus gives the Prayer, He also gives instructions on how it is to be prayed : in secrecy. We all know where our secret place is...it's in our heart. It stands to reason that a prayer recited in a monotone signifies a prayer with no meaning behind it, no emotions, no real interest in what God has gifted us with : His private "phone number" so-to-speak. If we want God's favor, we should be sincere in the asking for it. IF God sent His son to give us these words to use...why would we add to, or subtract from these words? If that was God's representative (which is what He claimed)...why would we disobey? Are we THAT stubborn? THAT hard-headed? THAT stupid?

What does it mean to "go into your closet...." and be heard "....in secret..."? How can a conversation be held secret, if it's spoken aloud? Where is there any true secrecy in the land? The only place I know of, where only God can hear, and no one else, is in my mind : my heart....where evil thoughts come from, and where good thoughts come from...from our minds.

Minds are separate beings from brains. Brains send signals; they don't have emotions. The mind holds emotions, which stimulate the brain to send signals throughout our bodies, including the nervous system. That feeling of having chills running up and down your arms? That comes from the brain, stimulated/motivated by an emotion such as love, fear, embarrassment......lots of things can give you chills.
