"Signs of the Times"

I believe there are ways of knowing whether you are, or are not in the place where you need to be, where you are supposed to be, at any given point in your life. There are signs along the way, if you watch for them, or just happen to notice them. I've found that the most convincing signs have been the ones that I might not have noticed, if certain circumstances hadn't prevailed in the moment. For instance, I knew immediately that I had found "home" when I walked into this trailer. I was looking for a place to live, yes, and the fact that the place was so cheap could have been seen as a sign that this was for me, but the real sign for me was when a feeling of calm and peace flowed through me as I stood in the living room, gazing at all I saw around me. When I walked into the utility room and looked out the back door, that cinched it : nothing out there to look at except Nature...my kind of scene. And sound. The quiet (not silence) of where I live is a great gift to me. I felt at once that the good Lord had led me to where I would end my days in peace.
